2012

No, I am not going to talk about that upcoming movie that’s been a making a lot of fuss on youtube over the past few days. I’m going to talk about a more complicated matter that will surely be circulating over everything in the coming months (or years).

Some of us may have heard or read about this somewhere. Nobody’s sure unless we are presented with a concrete evidence but either way, I’m going to share what I know so far.

http://www.freecomputerdesktopwallpaper.com/new_wallpaper/AncientMayanPyramidRuinsinChichenItza,Mexico-freecomputerdesktopwallpaper_p.jpg

The Mayans believed that at the end of the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar which is presented as lasting 5,125 years, the world will end which is to say that we’re all going to die. It is forecasted, however, that this 5,125 year-term is approaching and is set to happen between December 21 or 23, 2012.

Yet how could we be sure that the Mayans had enough knowledge to predict such? How could they be certain when all they had during the time they were alive were no more than mere carved stones and jungle?

In astronomy (though some of us are not really aware of this), a certain planet called Nibiru, orbits and enters our inner solar system every 3,600 years. It has been said that Nibiru is entering the solar system again some time in 2012. Nobody is certain yet but astronomers are keeping a close eye on it today but has not yet publicized any information regarding this. However, this rogue planet is expected to be visible to the naked eye some time this year (you better watch out).

Nibiru is named after the Mesopotamian god after being called Planet X. Although Planet X is generally a common term used by astronomers for planets discovered beyond Pluto, they have also called it Eris. Some were even claiming that NASA had found Nibiru or Planet X or Eris and that it is said to fly past Earth in 2012.

Well, we can never be sure unless it happens, can’t we? Several situations like this sprang up in the past. Remember the Y2K and that rumored doomsday in 2003? I think they’re all the same.

If it’s really true, Nibiru, Maya or whichever way it is, we’re all going to die and perish in the end, anyway. This situation would just make it a little sooner.

MY THOUGHTS ON HP6

On July 19, 2009, in Personal, by Allen
And so the most awaited day of the year has come (except perhaps Christmas). After more than half a year’s delay, the 6th installment of Harry Potter came out with very very loud BOOM!

I watched the movie last Thursday at Gateway’s Globe Platinum Cinema which truly was an extraordinary movie experience, much better than what IMAX had to offer. GPC’s lounge is so cozy which I found very welcoming because of the heavy rains outside.

This Harry Potter edition amazed me more than the previous one because I expected a lot from it. However, the movie can’t pass without any flaws especially when they’re competing against the version of the book. Anyway, here it is:

One of the most important parts of the Half-Blood Prince is Dumbledore’s funeral where everyone in the wizarding world gathered and stood united by Albus’ sudden death. I wanted to see the Centaurs shooting arrows, the Acromantulas, the Merpeople paying respect from the Great Lake and everyone who cared for Albus. Too bad this great chunk of a scene was NEVER in the movie!

This version obviously was made for the NON-fans. There were too many teenage-ish scenes and too many snogging moments.

There were also too many added scenes that I have never read in the book including the burning of the Burrow. And why did the Weasleys just stared at their burning house? I mean, they can use a little “Aguamenti” spell on it!

Merope was never shown in the movie. I was hoping to see the mother of the most evil wizard of all time.

What was that shoelace thing all about? I mean, Ginny tied Harry’s shoelaces? Don’t they know that tying another one’s shoelaces is an undercurrent of sex?

Lastly, why was Dumbledore suddenly interested with girls when all we know is that he’s gay? Was that Albus’ ploy or do they want to confuse people of what’s going to come in the Deathly Hallows?

There. You’ve hear my say. I hope I could get an explanation from David Yates. But all in all, the movie was exemplary. The cinematography is way better than last year’s. I had a really fun time since the GPC is superb. They offered free popcorn and soda, plus I had a whole couch just for myself. Cool, isn’t it?

Anyway, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, I’m sorry for spoiling everything. Ha!

P.S., My Twitter Update last .

(I read Harry Potter. Haha!)

ANG NAHULI

On July 12, 2009, in In The Society, Personal, by Allen

LAZY BOY

On July 9, 2009, in Personal, by Allen

This is embarrassing. I almost forgot that I have an unattended blog. LOL.

I really wasn’t into something special these past few days but I was quite busy. I don’t know how I spent most of my time.

One thing is certain, I’m a bit tired of everything. I’ve been thinking and thinking about how I should handle things yet it’s going out of hand. I don’t know.

Yesterday, I skipped my Accounting class. Not that I was sick or was late. My brain just told me not to. I won’t learn anything anyway. Now, I’m starting to feel that I should drop Statistics as well. I hate it when I don’t like something. LOL

My mind has this peculiar ability to reject things when it doesn’t like it. My mind has a mind of it’s own.

Gaya nalang nitong pic, I spent ages na magpahangin sa sidewalk instead of going straight home. Good thing I got lazy buddies too. I got company.

Or maybe, I just got lazier than the usual.

Ikaw, pano ka ba tamarin?
