HUWAG TULARAN

I really don’t want to rant about things today but I think I should.

I was chatting earlier on Yahoo! Messenger with a former friend that I met on a Harry Potter event last year. I thought we could re-establish ties again, but it turned out to be otherwise. I-share ko ‘tong pinag-usapan namin:

Okay? So what the hell do I care about Starbucks?

My temper rose when we reached this point of our conversation:

Did you see that?! He called me a KID! A KID!!!! Dammit!

I won’t tell which school this troll is from. Nakakahiya.
Sana lang, kung yumaman man kayo, hindi kayo kagaya nito. ^__^

P.S. Sana lang din, kung magka-business kayo, ‘wag niyong gayahin ang McDo.

WHAT’S UP FOR TODAY?

June 26, 2009
Something tells me that this day has got to be special.
Well, maybe because:
-On the same day in 1934, Pres. Franklin Roosevelt signed the Federal Credit Union Act. *errr… so what?*
-On the same day in 1945, the UN Charter is signed in San Francisco.
-On the same day in 363 B.C., Roman Emperor Julian is killed during the retreat from the Sassanid Empire.
Hmmm… Doesn’t sound much of an interest to me. Or maybe because:
-Anne Catherine of Brandenburg, Queen of Denmark and Norway was born on this day of 1575.
-Lord Kelvin, an Irish-born physicist was born in 1824.
-The Japanese cartoonist, Kubo Tite was born in 1977 of the same day. *No, I’m not laughing at his surname* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Nah… Still don’t ring a bell. Let’s try this out:
-Francisco Pizarro was killed by the natives in Lima, Peru during this day.
-Joseph Michel Montgolfier, a French inventor died on the same day as well.
I don’t think I got it! So then, maybe this could be it:
-Today is the Sunthorn Phu Day, in memory of the famous Thai poet.
-The Romanians are celebrating their Flag Day today.
-Today is the feast day of St. Josemaria Escriva (He was mentioned on the Da Vinci Code)
-The people of Madagascar are celebrating their independence day today.
No. I’m sure that wasn’t it. Because today is actually….
THE INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUGS AND ILLICIT TRAFFICKING!

lol. kidding. Today is my birthday. Happy Birthday to me! Haha!

P.S. Thanks to Kuya Rod for the wonderful gift all the way from Iloilo. I received his package yesterday and I really loved the gift. Damo gid nga salamat!

ALLEN RECOMMENDS: TWITTER

On June 23, 2009, in Allen Recommends, by Allen

There really are times when I really want to blog about certain things but I’m so lazy to drag myself into the computer and compose a “readable” blog entry.
But the itch to blog and tell the world about what we’re doing is inevitable. So then we decide to blog about our new haircut or our neighbor’s new car.
Errr… Do you really think that’s worth blogging? I mean, do you really think your readers would be interested with those?
So then comes micro-blogging. Micro-blogging is a a form of multimedia blogging that allows users to send brief text updates or micromedia such as photos or audio clips and publish them, either to be viewed by anyone or by a restricted group which can be chosen by the user.
There are several websites who offer free micro-blogging services but the one that really caught my interest is Twitter.

Unlike Plurk, Ping.fm and Tumblr, Twitter boasts of its simplicity and a wide range of users which include prominent personalities in every industry.
Twitter was founded in 2006 in San Francisco, California and is now considered by Nielsen.com as the fastest growing website in membership number category for February 2009. Twitter’s service enable users to send and read other people’s updates known as Tweets. These tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to other users – known as followers – who have subscribed to them
So whenever you feel like shouting something to the world and doesn’t see it fit for blogging, you might want to try it on Twitter.
Many prominent personalities use Twitter as well. Imagine, kapag nasa Twitter mo sila, updated ka sa mga nangyayari sa kanila. Cool, eh?
Twitter’s most prominent personalities include Ashley Tisdale, Ashton Kutcher, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Pres. Obama, Nikki Gil, Lea Salonga, Jed Madela, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Britney Spears, Ryan Seacrest, Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Allen Yuarata (LOL. Haha!).
Twitter has since been very useful to its users that, as a matter of fact, On April 10, 2008, James Buck, a graduate journalism student at University of California, Berkely and his translator, Mohammed Maree, were arrested in Egypt for photographing an anti-government protest. On his way to the police station Buck used his mobile phone to send the message “Arrested” to his 48 “followers” on Twitter. Those followers contacted U.C. Berkeley, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, and a number of press organizations on his behalf. Buck was able to send updates about his condition to his “followers” while being detained. He was released the next day from the Mahalla jail after the college hired a lawyer for him.
Visit Twitter and create your Twitter account now at www.twitter.com. You may also follow me at www.twitter.com/AllenYuarata
You may also send updates via SMS through www.isip.ph

SA ISANG BAGSAKAN

On June 20, 2009, in Personal, by Allen

You might want to read this first. CLICK

Sabi nila, when you give something to other people, it will come back to you in three folds (minsan nga hundred folds pa daw).

Sabi ko naman, If I lose something and it gets replaced by my Mom immediately, I will then lose something again…. IN THREE FOLDS!

Well I guess that’s just how life works. People come, people go, and so does cellphones. My O2 XDA II Mini finally died after 2 weeks of fighting cancer. I really didn’t want to use it because I got fed up with scribbling whenever I text (plus, it requires all of my fingers in both hands just to compose a text message). Na-miss ko naman ang pagpindot pindot sa keypad.

So I dumped the poor Pocket PC and never used it again. Until yesterday, because the laptop’s card slot was jammed, I decided to use the Pocket PC’s card slot and connect it to the computer in order for me to transfer the card’s content to the laptop. Pero nung inopen ko na, voila! Ayaw na!

I gave up after hours and hours of reconnecting and making pukpok pukpok (<--courtesy of Janice). But the Pocket PC did a lot of help to me naman. It served as my personal secretary. My school schedule was there, I also used that to take down notes during the iBlog5. What I really really liked about it is that when my classmates need to borrow a phone kapag wala silang load, they never try to ask me kahit alam nilang nag-uunlimited text ako. Alam kasi nila na mas matagal pa silang magtetext kesa maghihintay ng reply gamit ang Pocket PC. Haha.

A few days before that, my SE K600i got screwed up as well. Tinamad kasi akong i-charge nung na-lowbatt. Then nung icha-charge ko na, voila! Ayaw na!

So that makes 2 phones in less than a month. Idagdag mo pa ‘tong obsolete na SE T310 na matagal nang nakatambak. Sayang lang. Sana lang magtagal ‘tong current phone na gamit ko.

I will miss you

Perhaps I need to take extra care with my things, don’t you think? Adios my phones and friends!^_^

A NOT-SO-HAPPY ENDING

On June 16, 2009, in Uncategorized, by Allen
I found very interesting photos at my school’s community website and I think you’d be interested as well.

As I’ve told before, I am not fascinated with happy endings. I appreciate stories which end in tragedy because in order for me to get moved or inspired by a certain story, it should contain really strong emotion.

When we’re kids, we tend to love happy endings. But what if the ‘happily ever after’ turns into chaos? If I get a chance to ruin our favorite Disney characters’ lives, this is what would surely happen to them. Har-har-har!

I will prove to them that Snow White is a Filipino so she doesn’t know anything about Family planning.

Little Red Riding Hood suddenly got lost in the woods and she discovered McDonald’s. Like me, she also likes Monster Float

Princess Aurora loves sleeping more than I do. She woke up after the Prince finally died at age 101 in a retirement home. lol

Rapunzel never took her vitamins so she was diagnosed of Cancer. This image was taken after her chemotherapy.

Belle was afraid she’d look like Beast when she grows old so she had Botox.

Jasmine was recruited by Al-Qaeda

so tell me, who wants a happy ending now? Ha-ha!
